Although an event like Remembrance Day is not really a cityscape per se, I feel it is extremely important to acknowledge the day.
Earlier today I attended the Remembrance Day ceremonies at Old City Hall. The sombre event was exceedingly well attended and the rain actually held off until later in the afternoon.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
They were young, as we are young,
They served, giving freely of themselves.
To them, we pledge, amid the winds of time,
To carry their torch and never forget.
We will remember them.

Laying poppies on the Cenotaph, end of services

Nice job Marvin. It looks like it was well attended.
Thanks for sharing these beautiful photos! As the regimental church of the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada, St. Paul’s Bloor Street is honoured to host a service of remembrance for the regiment each year which begins with a laying on of wreaths at the Cenataph on the church grounds. It’s amazing to see the south lane of Bloor Street closed from Church to Jarvis, as the regimental band sets a mood of sorrow, gratitude and a yearning for peace.
That sounds very interesting. I’d like to experience this, so I’ll make a mental note to add this to next year’s November 11th outing. Thanks Michal.
Great! Just plan to be there for about 10:30 on the Sunday before Nov. 11 (Remembrance Sunday). There’s also a ceremony ar the Cenataph on Nov.11 each year (never been to that one myself).
What would be also nice is Ottawa’s Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 11. Was there in 2024 and quite loved it.
